The 18th Annual TCS North American Finals have concluded. Congratulations to all the winners and especially the four winners that will be representing North America in the upcoming 2012 Tamiya World Championships, which will be held in Japan. The TCS North American Champions will have a veteran Tamiya World Champion participant go along the trip this year. Rod Canare (GT-1 winner) has become the first repeat winner, under the new GT-1 rules structure, to have another shot at the Tamiya Word title. His experience as a Tamiya World Championship participant will undoubtedly help the three new winners maximize their full potential. The GT Spec class is a novice class that teaches racers the basics of Radio Control car racing. Mathew Tolmasoff has finally won the class after a few attempts and will now be moving up to the GT-3 class. Congratulations Mathew! Welcome to the next level of competition.
Last years' GT Spec Champion was Joshua Hill and he moved onto the GT-3 class for the 2012 TCS season. The GT-3 class was highly contested this year. Julian Wong was the Top Qualifier with Alan Mok in second and Joshua Hill in third. The race proved to be very exciting as Joshua Hill was able to edge out Julian Wong in the closing minutes of the race to take the win. This win makes it two for two for Josh. Will he move onto the faster GT-2 class for 2013 and make it three for three? Time will tell...
Tamiya America would like to thank Speed Tech RC for being the official TCS North American on site hobby shop, KO Propo America for the product prizes, the Tamiya America TRF racing members for running a smooth technical inspection and to Johnny Hernandez for his exciting announcing style!
