The Tamiya Championship Series (hereby known as TCS) is a race event to promote a fun and friendly atmosphere for Tamiya’s extensive line up of radio control cars. It offers an easy and exciting way for the customer to become interactive in racing after purchasing Tamiya products at your store. And it also offers increased sales from steady and loyal return customers in your local race program. The TCS series is an annual event featuring several regional races across the country. The prizes, marketing materials, and awards are all provided by Tamiya America in support of the race program. Competing in the regional race makes the entrant eligible for the Nationals; where the winner in each main class wins a free paid trip to Japan to compete against the finalists from around the World.
A TCS host site requires the following to be eligible for consideration as a regional location:
  • Existing hobby store with Tamiya parts and kit support
  • Existing race program
  • Regular turn out of attendees
  • Ample area for pit space
  • Secured proper permits (where applicable)
  • Liability insurance for the event

TCS is created to promote a realistic racing environment due to the accuracy and precise production of our R/C car bodies. The available chassis and classes provide contestants of all skills and ages a proper place to compete and develop their driving skills. Your sales rep, the marketing team, and other TCS sites are more than willing to help in these efforts.

Our current race schedule as of 2008 (14th annual race season) is as follows
  • Feb 9 & 10 - S&N Trackside Hobbies - Brookfield, WI
  • March 1 & 2 - Tamiya R&D Track - Aliso Viejo, CA
  • March 29 & 30 - Seattle Indoor Raceway - Kent, WA
  • May 4 - Hobbytown USA - Memphis, TN
  • June 8 - Norcal Hobbies - Union City, CA
  • July 13 - Hobby Works - Laurel, MD
  • Aug 10 - R/C Madness - Enfield, CT
  • date & location TBA - North American Finals

Please keep in mind that most TCS locations retain relatively the same dates from year to year with no wide fluctuations. Your desired dates may conflict with other shows or previous business obligations we may have also. The season typically starts around Feburary and ends in August. This allows enough time for us to prepare the North American Finalists for their trip to Japan in November.

TCS Club Race (Trial Test for Eligibility)
We have the option to run a test trial of your race program and facilities to determine eligibility for TCS. This trial basically exhibits your ability to market and run a TCS-style event at your facility. The event will be run using the most current TCS rules available and will be hosted by the applicant store and sponsored by Tamiya USA. We will provide the prizes for the winning contestants. Depending on turn out, feedback, and marketing efforts, we can properly determine if your location is suitable to host a TCS event. Detailed records of contestants and class entries need to be submitted along with photos and proof of advertisements used to promote the event (internet, newspaper clippings, flyers, etc).

The most current PDF of rules can be downloaded from the TCS page on our website:
http://www.tamiyausa.com/tcs_races/rules.php
(Always download the PDF for the most current and up-to-date rules as they are subject to revision throughout the season)

Thank you for your interest and we hope to hear from you soon.

If you do not receive a confirmation reply within 3 business days, please call (949) 362-2240 to verify that your entry was received. Thank you.
